Dany was bred to light fawn Fargo out of Central Hill Alpaca plus Farm. Fargo is a docile and sweet herdsire. We are excited to see what cria they produce.
Samwise was born March 25, 2023 to an uncomplicated birth and is settling into the herd alongside mom nicely. Sam is such a cuddle bug and loves the attention. He can be found causing mischief among the herd and being generally sweet with us.
Mr. Frodo - June 1 2023
Foxy was bred to Goose while still living with Clearview Farms. Goose is owned by Laurel Springs Farm. He is a silver grey alpaca with lots of personality and sweetness. Foxy is laid back and a wonderfully attentive mature alpaca.
Frodo was born June 1st. After a long awaited overdue period with Foxy. Foxy has become the epitome of motherhood. She immediately took to Frodo. She is patient while he learns to nurse and allows us to monitor him with ease as well. She's a perfect mother and we could not be happier with how cute he is!
Sunny Rae & Fargo
Sunny Rae is a new addition to our herd. She will be arriving on Saturday along with many of her besties. Sunny comes from a loving home where all her friends including her are very friendly. Fargo is her baby daddy and we are expecting a Fawn or Brown colored cria. We are excited for Sunny and her all her friends as they are the absolutely perfect temperament for therapeutic services. Sunny herself is continually loving and accepting of pets and close contact even heavily pregnant. Sunny is due November 4th.
2023 Losses
Jack, the Pumpkin King
We were told numerous times that cria are fragile and that we should expect losses during birthing seasons. However we never expected these losses. Idealistically we thought we'd have a smooth year and lots of beautiful cria. However, we were met with loss this year, hard. Firstly, Cait ended up giving birth 10 weeks early and her cria did not survive birth. We named her boy Leonid. He was a beautiful classic gray with a white face mask. Cria that are born more than 3 weeks early run the risk of having underdeveloped lungs as the lungs mature in the last 2 weeks of gestation. Leonid was 9 pounds at birth and he did not draw breath despite being born alive for an hour.
Belle's son, Jack was born and thrived for 30 hours. He was a beautiful classic silver/rose gray with a white mask as well. He was loving and sweet and we were sure he would do wonderfully at our farm. I willl always remember his face nuzzles. I loved his warm soft cheeks against my hand and his cuddles from such a young age. However for reasons we do not fully know he did not make it through his second night of life. We held him close and showed him all the love as he passed, being as that was the most we could do for him by that time.
Cait and Belle will both be rebred to Northern Blue when the time comes for 2024 cria. We are hoping 2024 brings us a lot of positive energy and beautiful healthy cria. Cait will breed again in December for a November 2024 cria and Belle will be rebred in the spring for a 2025 spring cria.
